NEW DELHI: Final year medical student Krishna Wankede is keeping very busy for the last two weeks. His exams are less than a month away, but studies aren't on top of his mind.
The to-be-doctor from Aurangabad and his 20 college mates have been carrying a 100-m-long banner with 10,000 signatures supporting their cause to their city's colleges, railway stations and bus stands.

These medical students were also part of the historic rally held at Ramlila Maidan on Saturday. "People from the reserved category also supported us by signing the banner. It is a small gesture to convey how the quota row is affecting millions of lives," said Dr Ramesh Davede.
Not worried about nearing exams, Sandeep Gore said: "This is more important. Everything is dependent on this, not just our future but of those who are still in schools and want to be doctors."
"Just 20 of us came here as we didn't want to create chaos. But we were joined by hundreds of students from other parts of Maharashtra. Majority of our friends are protesting in Mumbai," said Suresh Shinde, a second year student.
Over 1,000 students from from Rohtak participated in the rally along with medicos from Shimla, Punjab, Surat, Ahmedabad, Haryana and other states. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) students, too, were part of the rally.
